So we ended up not going downtown yesterday, David was feeling tired and a little apprehensive about making that journey. So we rolled over to the MH for some pizza, we lasted about an hour and called it a day.

I have been in a funk lately, just tired mainly.....staying positive 24/7 is annoying.

I am sure it is difficult to stay 'upbeat and peppy and positive', but you are doing a terrific job, Liz. And I know it's sometimes the little things that will set off a day of being in a funk or whatever you want to call it. I have been on a similar journey - my husband was ill, not injured - but I think I understand some of your emotions. I could always handle the BIG things with grace and optimism, but then something little and trivial and insignificant would send me into tears. Hang in there honey. We are all sending strength and hugs and prayers your way. xoxo

I am thinking about you both. It is such a tough time-physically and emotionally. A very good friend of ours just lost his leg in an auto accident, and he was a pro golfer. It is not easy. I will say an extra prayer for you tonight.

There's time to do that. And I guess that apprehension can be understandable.

The day will come when he is rarin' to go downtown and cruise. Just think, a man who WANTS to shop!

Hang in there, hugs and prayers in your direction.

Don't worry about not going downtown - it's overrated anyways. Ha ha.

I'm praying that you'll both get some rest and feel better.

I can imagine being apprehensive about going out for the first time. I also see being let down that you didn’t get the day out with your husband that you would have liked. You are holding up so well, with all the stress that you are dealing with on a daily basis. I bet you want to get on with your “life” as a married couple. I hope you call your Mom and vent whenever you need. No one can be up and positive 24/7. I just want you to know that I think you are doing awesome! Quite honestly, I think you are handling this with much more grace and faith than I can ever imagine having. I just hope you always know that many of us out here are pulling for YOU just as much as we are for your husband. Take whatever time you need to deal with your own emotions. It’s so necessary for your wellbeing. Hang in there, girl and feel free to ask for anything you need.

An hour might not seem like much, but to me it is a positive. Time alone:) I would expect more days like that coming.
