Dave and I had a great day, he was kinda out of it, but sometimes he has days like this. We had a great anniversary of delivery pizza and watching The Sandlot! We were planning on being apart anyway due to the deployment so it ended up better than expected!

I am not sure if he has surgery in the morning, we are guessing another cleanout, but not sure. I am back at the Mologne House for some R & R before I walk back over to spend the night so I can catch the Dr. B Dream Team in the morning. We are holding off on amputation for another week or so, even though Dave thinks its still his best option. Either way we are going to be fine with what happens.

I have made some wonderful friends here at the MH and we are grilling out tonight in the large courtyard. Some of the stories you hear around here make you feel so blessed in your situation. I would encourage anyone to make a visit to Walter Reed at some point to see these amazing people and hear their stories. I have already made lifelong friends that have helped me through those frustrating times.

I have received some really sweet emails from Dave's High School Classmates, if I have not gotten back to you yet I apologize! I print out the emails and Dave is reading each one!

I'm glad you were together for your pizza dinner 1st Anniversary!
Hang in there, Sweetie, better days are coming. You amaze us all with your strength and courage. Grandmama actually read your blog today...Betty Ann was there and helped her. Then she emailed me. Grandmama is so upset with what you are going through and she said "Liz's words of strength and hope make her feel so much better!"
Dad and I love you and David so much...I'm glad Dad will be there in 2 days to give you some much needed relief.

Dave & Liz,

I'm so glad I'm finally "meeting" you here. I am Timothy Habedank's mom, and Tim called me immediately after your accident. Our family and our church has been praying for you ever since. At any given church service I will have people walk up and ask me, "How's Tim's friend, Dave? I've been praying for him."

Please know how truly grateful I am for your great sacrifice for our country. Despite a commander-in-chief and media who seem to care little about patriotism, I still believe America is worth fighting for; and I am deeply indebted to you both for giving a part of yourself for my freedom.

For what it's worth, Dave, the day it occurred and Tim called me, I honestly believe he was ready to take on the whole country singlehandedly. He was very moved by your loss. He thinks a lot of you.

I will continue to pray for you both!

Thanks for blogging and including photographs; it really helps us to know specifically how to pray.

Dave & Liz,

I am a friend of Leah Sandlin. She put out a request for prayer as soon as her son, Tim, called her about Dave's accident. I am so glad that we now have the opportunity to read these notes and see the pictures. As Leah said, it will help us to better know how to pray.

I, too, would like to say how much I appreciate what you have both given for our country. Dave, you went and sacrificed your life for this country and our freedoms and Liz, you stayed behind and sacrificed your husband so I could have all that I have. I don't take it lightly.

I have read all that you have been through this last year and I can truthfully say that I understand what you're going through. My husband & I were married 9 weeks when we got hit head-on by a drunk driver. I was 18 & my husband was 20. It left me paralyzed from the waist down, never to walk again. Twenty-one yrs. later, my left leg was amputated from the knee down, complications of an infection. I'm not telling you all this for glory or to take away from your story but to let you know that God has truly been my best friend through all of this. My husband and I have been married 34 yrs! I read where you just celebrated your 1st
anniversay and I pray that there will be many more. I know it may seem hard at times and it will get harder but there's nothing you both can't face together that God can't get you through! Just know that there's alot of people out there praying for you, including me and we'll sure help you through it! Keep up the good work!!

God bless you both!
